My Review – An Amish Family Reunion

Phoebe Miller is a shy Amish girl who has a passion for drawing. She decides to take a big step and go on a trip to Niagara Falls. While on this trip she meets the charming and talkative Eli Riehl. They strike up a friendship. Soon they discover that with Phoebe’s beautiful artwork and Eli’s ability to tell a good story they might just be able to put their talents to good use writing a children’s story book. After returning home they put their plan into action and begin to write a book, forging a friendship along the way to last a lifetime. Just as they are on their way to big things, Eli’s father suffers a heart attack. Eli must take on full responsibility of the family farm, leaving little time for writing. Meanwhile, Phoebe’s Aunt Julia Miller is feeling down and out because her children have left the nest. They have their own families and do not come home enough. She decides to contact each child to ask them to come home for one month for a big family reunion. Much to her delight all accept. Her children are dealing with problems that come about with married life. Julia wants to help but fears she is meddling. She cares deeply for her children and their children. Bottom line is she just wants everyone happy and content. I loved this book! It continues the story of the Miller clan from Mary’s previous books but can be read as a stand-alone. She does a great job of catching you up with their pasts. This is a great book written with such honest characters. You feel as though you know them! I was rooting for each and every character to get their happy ending. I especially enjoyed Phoebe and Eli’s story. Absolutely wonderful!

This book was provided to me from Harvest House Publishers via-NetGalley for my honest review.
