An Unexpected Amish Romance: Review by Susan Scott Ferrell

An Unexpected Amish Romance

An Unexpected Amish Romance – Crazy Aunt Steals the Show!

I was hooked on Patricia Davids’ books after reading His Amish Teacher last year. Davids knows how to deliver a story, and An Unexpected Amish Romance is no exception.

Helen Zook has run away form home to her Aunt Charlotte’s in Bowman’s Crossing, Ohio. Helen is heartbroken, prideful, and stubborn. She definitely doesn’t need to keep bumping into nosy carpenter Mark Bowman. As far as Helen is concerned, Mark’s a pompous know-it-all.

Then there’s crazy Aunt Charlotte…who has a pet raccoon and a basset hound that have a penchant for matchmaking! Need I say more? Let the fun and folly being!

I was given An Unexpected Amish Romance in exchange for my honest review. This can easily be read as a stand-alone. Davids does a phenomenal job of pulling the reader in with her cast of laugh-out-loud characters. Crazy Aunt Charlotte steals the show, along with the dog and the raccoon! If you’re in the mood for a light-hearted pick-me-up, this is the book for you!

Susan Ferrell and her husband make their home in the Atlanta Metro area. Although Susan struggles with chronic migraine headaches, she stays very busy as a stay-at-home mom to one very precocious little girl. While catching her breath, she feeds her Amishaholic tendencies by reading vast amounts of Amish literature!
