The Guardian by Beverly Lewis

the gaurdain 2The Home to Hickory Hollow series keeps getting better with each book. I thought The Bridesmaid was my favorite, but I am going to scratch that and say that The Guardian has now taken over that spot! Beverly Lewis once again charms readers with her ability to spin a story that will leave everyone very happy with their return to visit to Hickory Hollow. I knew immediately that this book was going to be good because the opening chapter made me breathless and gave me a bout of anxiety! The Guardian centers on a very special little Amish girl Sarah Esh, who falls from the family buggy one night leaving her mother totally unaware. Being a Mama Bear, I could not imagine what I would do if I were in Maryanna’s shoes. I shudder to think. As I was reading I felt like I was watching a movie…..a really well acted movie. The characters give emotional and raw performances that are Oscar worthy. Every character adds something special to the book and their stories weave together in perfect harmony. Well, maybe not such perfect harmony….there is a certain parrot that really gets Maryanna Esh’s temper flaring! I enjoyed every minute of this book and know without a doubt you will too.

This book was provided to me from Bethany House Publishers for review purposes.
