A Miracle of Hope – A Joyful Journey for Readers — by Susan Ferrell

Having never read any works by Ruth Reid, I was leery that I wouldn’t find her writings up to par with the other accomplished writers in her genre.  I was pleasantly surprised.  Reid’s first novel in her Amish Wonders series, A Miracle of Hope, is full of romance, mystery and renewal.

A Miracle of Hope tells the story of Lindie, an unwed – and pregnant – Amish woman, who finds herself quickly shoved into an arranged marriage with Josiah, a widower with a deaf eight-year old daughter, Hannah.  When Hannah proves to be a handful, Lindie’s pregnancy becomes high-risk, and other health problems arise, Josiah and Lindie’s  marriage is rocked to the core. Will their friendship and budding love see them through?

I was given A Miracle of Hope in exchange for my honest review. Ruth Reid is a gifted storyteller. Although the novel is 339 pages, it was a quick read. The characters are well developed. This novel can easily be read as a stand-alone, but I anxiously await Book Two in the Amish Wonders series! You have a new fan, Mrs. Reid!

Susan Ferrell and her husband make their home in the Atlanta Metro area. Although Susan struggles with chronic migraine headaches, she stays very busy as a stay-at-home mom to one very precocious 5-year old. While catching her breath, she feeds her Amishaholic tendencies by reading vast amounts of Amish literature!
