  270. At a ladies retreat, one of my prayer requests was Lord help me learn to love reading. Last year 2012-April, my secret sister in our church bought me some Amish romance books as a mothers day gift. Once I made myself sat down and begin to read I fall in love with them. Ever since then I have read more books in a year then I did in my whole life here on earth. I would be tickled pink if I would win something that precious to me.   331. I have recently purchased and read the Ada’s House series, which I loved just as much as the Sisters of the Quilt series, which I have loaned to so many people that I have lost track of them. I have the Christmas at Apple Ridge, three in one collection, waiting to be read, but don’t want to start it as I will have no more Amish books to read.

    I love everything about the Amish – their simplicity, convictions, delicious food, beautiful hand-made furniture & crafts, lovely farms, independency, & love of family. I enjoy touring Amish communities as often as possible, & ate a meal with an Amish family near Shipshewana, In..
