The Christmas Quilt Review and Giveaway!

The Christmas Quilt-Piece by Piece on Earth by Susan Ferrell

Vannetta Chapman finally quenched the thirst for the readers of her very first Amish novel, A Simple Amish Christmas! In The Christmas Quilt, Chapman picks up the story lines of nurse Annie and her husband Samuel, as they both assist their Amish community with their medical travails.

But when Annie’s brother, Adam, and his wife, Leah, experience a difficult pregnancy, it puts everyone’s faith to the test. Through the making of a quilt, Annie and Leah are drawn closer to one another, to others, to God and to His scriptures.

A Simple Amish Christmas was one of my favorites by Vannetta Chapman, so it was hard not to compare the two. The Christmas Quilt was a good read, but at times, it felt disjointed. Additionally, a word of caution to any who have had a difficult pregnancy — this may hit a little too close to home.

Overall though, I highly recommend The Christmas Quilt. I was given this book in exchange for my honest review. Vannetta Chapman never disappoints.

Vannetta Chapman is giving one lucky reader the chance to win a print copy or e-book of The Christmas Quilt!

  11. I haven’t yet read A Simple Christmas, and don’t know if it is a must before reading this story, The Christmas Quilt. In the description above, Annie is referred to as ‘nurse’ and since I didn’t think the Amish women would have medical training, I wasn’t sure who Annie was. Then I read the description of A Simple Christmas.
Regardless, I believe this story (and the previous one) will be one I would thoroughly enjoy. If I win this book, I will of course buy the first. 🙂

  12. I would love to win this book, love all Amish books, but there’s something about Amish Christmas books that are better than any other Christmas books.Sure hope I win.
    Happy Thanksgiving!

  14. I love her books, and I know this would be no exception. The quilt reminds me a little bit like the one my grandmother made for me when I was a little girl. Only it just has the girls on it. I had no idea it was considered an amish girl, I always called it holly hobby. The quilt has been such a blessing to me that I will pass down to my sweet daughter. I would love to win this one and would cherish it as well.
