Advent in Narnia: Review by Susan Scott Ferrell

Advent in Narnia – A Refreshing Twist

Advent in Narnia Looking for something different this advent season? Then Advent in Narnia may be just what you are looking for!

Author Heidi Haverkamp takes readers through the Advent season (four weeks) using passages from C.S. Lewis’s The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. Participants can either use a written copy of Lewis’s book or use the movie. She also includes questions for a small group, a leader’s guide if you are leading a small group, as well as how to create a “Narnia Night” for families. Haverkamp even has recommendations for the best Turkish Delight!

I was given Advent in Narnia in exchange for my honest review. I found it a refreshing twist on the run-of-the-mill Advent book. I would highly recommend buying a paper version of the books instead of the digital version, as the entire thing is very interactive (that being said, it’s not the end of the world if you get the digital version – it’s just a bit less handy.) On the positive, Advent in Narnia IS very interactive, engaging, and wonderful for all ages! A plus in my opinion: It can be used as a GREAT outreach tool. And what better time of year to reach out to your friends and neighbors in Christian brotherly love?

Susan Ferrell and her husband make their home in the Atlanta Metro area. Although Susan struggles with chronic migraine headaches, she stays very busy as a stay-at-home mom to one very precocious little girl. While catching her breath, she feeds her Amishaholic tendencies by reading vast amounts of Amish literature!
