My Review
Life with Lily by Mary Ann Kinsinger and Suzanne Woods Fisher is so very sweet and perfect for young children. This book is geared toward eight to twelve year olds, but I found myself enjoying the mischief that young Lily seems to get into very much. It’s a great book to read aloud with your young ones. Which is what my son and I started to do, but he decided he just had to read it on his “own”! This makes me an extremely happy mama because the book is fantastic. I think both boys and girls will enjoy reading all about Lily. Reading books from a child’s perspective is so refreshing. The authors have done a wonderful job creating a world of mishaps and new adventures for young Lily Lapp. She is faced with everything from a new baby brother to a bully named Mandy Mast to just being a seven year old girl, which is hard because trouble seems to really like Lily. We are taken on a fun and playful spin on Amish fiction, as seen through the eyes of a mischievous little girl. I found myself laughing out loud many times. One of my favorite parts of this book involves a chainsaw, Lily’s mother’s legs, and a stranger. What Lily thinks and how she reacts is just too cute. All in all, Life with Lily is an absolutely adorable book, and I am anxious to see what adventures are next for Lily Lapp.
This book was provided to me from Litfuse for review purposes.
