I was originally drawn to Where Treetops Glisten (a collection of three Christmas novellas) because Tricia Goyer is one of the authors. Normally, I stick to reading and reviewing mostly books in the Amish genre, but I do love stories set during Word War Two. To have Goyer as one of the authors was a bonus. And, I was soon to find out that I would add Cara Putman and Sarah Sundin to my list of favorite authors as well. Where Treetops Glisten is a must-read for this Christmas season.
Putnam’s White Christmas tells the story of Abigail Turner, a college student who has already lost her one true love to the war. She has vowed to stay away from any talks of romance…until a mystery man named Jackson appears on the scene. Can Jackson help Abigail find true love again?
Sundins I’ll Be Home for Christmas shares the story of Abigail’s brother, Peter, a fighter pilot that returns home a hero, but empty deep within. Can a rascal of a little girl…and her mother (who Peter bullied as a child) somehow unlock what is buried down in his soul?
Goyer’s Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas takes readers on a journey to the frontlines of the Netherlands with Meredith, Abigail and Peter’s sister. After leaving the United States, and burying her memories of the most ultimate betrayal, Meredith is forced to deal with this betrayal head-on, making her trust God to protect and heal her shattered heart.
I was given Where Treetops Glisten in exchange for my honest review. I thought it was fantastic. Unlike most novella collections I’ve read, this one was very well thought out and flowed nicely. The characters were well-rounded and complimented one another. Each novella moved well from one to the next – an amazing feat, considering there were three writers. I especially appreciated the attention to detail each author took to make sure her storyline line up and meshed with the others. Where Treetops Glisten was a quick and delightful read. This World War Two wartime romance is definitely worth adding to your Christmas collection.

Great review. Makes me want to read the book. I too love war time stories. My father was in the Canadian Air force during World War 11. So my interest in stories during this war helps me to understand more how things were for dad during his time of service.
