The Matchmaker by Sarah Price-Review by Sue Laitinen

The MatchmakerThe Matchmaker is a story about a headstrong girl, Emma Weaver, thinking her way is right, and having to learn that life doesn’t always follow what you want…whether it’s matchmaking or anything else in life. What seemed impetuous in her attitude about life was a learning experience for her. And a growing experience. Emma did learn, albeit the harder way at times, and she grew from it. The moral of the story…and who does not like a book with a moral?

I truly enjoy a book that can paint a character as headstrong and always thinking they’re right, (yet making the character so likeable) and teaching them a lesson, in turn teaching you.

Impetuous: Acting or done quickly and without thought or care…seems to fit, doesn’t it?

Emma acted without really thinking, or caring how others felt…including the girl she was matchmaking for. She felt her idea was right. Not anyone else’s. Shrugging off the multiple warnings she was given by others, both her father and Gideon, she continued to do what she wanted, oblivious to the feelings of others. But when the world she built in her mind came crashing to a halt around her, Emma learns a lesson we can all learn from, and you like her all the more because of it…

Well done, Sarah Price. Definitely a five star book. I can’t wait until my next venture of the classics through your eyes.
