Once again readers are invited into the lives of four very unique sisters. This time around we really get to see these characters shine. Especially Lydia! I foresee an Academy Award in that whoopie pie bakers future. Goodness, she got under my skin and made me mumble a few choice words. Having only scratched the surface of the secrets the sisters are harboring in book one, the authors really let loose in book two. Let’s just say this book has more twist and turns than any back road in Holmes County! Many times I found myself laughing out loud…there is a “scene” which involves a turtle that had me in hysterics. While giggling I realized that this is why I love these characters. They are normal everyday people. Not sweet as molasses characters or fluffed up like they can do no wrong characters. This family feels like very real people with some very real issues. As you are flying through the pages be prepared to laugh, cry or get mad all within a span of a few chapters. The Divine Secrets of the Whoopie Pie Sisters-Book Two delivers all these emotions to you on a silver platter. Don’t you just love when a book does that? When every emotion gets played out and your on the edge of your seat with worry and anticipation. Makes for an enjoyable time in reading land.
