Fans of Mindy Starns Clark and Leslie Gould: the wait is over! The final installment of The Women of Lancaster County is here! After being captivated by Book 1 (The Amish Midwife), Book 2 (The Amish Nanny) and Book 3 (The Amish Bride), I anxiously awaited for the summer of 2013 and the release of The Amish Seamstress.
The Amish Seamstress picks up the story lines of Amish Izzy and Mennonite Zed, and their extended families. Izzy is an accomplished seamstress, who dabbles with caregiving – a profession she has been gifted with but is also afraid of. Zed is still paving his own way, heading to college to pursue his dream of being a filmmaker. Izzy is surprised to find she’s in love with Zed…and Zed is clueless. When Zed and Izzy work on a project together, they both uncover secrets about their families. Will their sleuthing end in true love, or will they forge their own personal paths?
I was given this book in exchange for my honest review. The Amish Seamstress is a gratifying conclusion to The Women of Lancaster County series. I would not recommend this as a stand-alone, as there is so much detail that refers to information from the other three books. If you have not read this series, start with Book 1 – and be hooked for the next two weeks! The intricacy of the characters and the well-developed story lines keep you riveted to the last page. Good-bye, Women of Lancaster County – you will be missed!
Susan Ferrell and her husband make their home in the Atlanta Metro area. Although Susan struggles with chronic migraine headaches, she stays very busy as a stay-at-home mom to one very precocious 5-year old. While catching her breath, she feeds her Amishaholic tendencies by reading vast amounts of Amish literature!
