A Simple Wish: Review by Susan Scott Ferrell

A Simple Wish

A Simple Wish – Another Hit for Hubbard!

I so enjoyed Charlotte Hubbard’s A Simple Vow (first in her Simple Gifts series.) So when I had the opportunity to read her latest release, A Simple Wish, I was excited. But a question lingered: Could she pull of another good story? Unequivocally yes!

Loretta Riehl makes beautiful rugs for the Simple Gifts craft shop in Willow Ridge. After her breakup with Will Gingerich (the guy that married a woman who was pregnant with another man’s child), she’s ready for a change. Will, who is widowed, longs to change his circumstances and win back Loretta’s affections…if it weren’t for that Drew Detweiler!

Drew Detweiler has atoned for the sins of his past, and desires to make a new start with Loretta. But then he stumbles across Loretta’s cantankerous father Cornelius. Drew has his suspicious that there is more going on in Cornelius’s life than he’s letting on. After all, Drew does know a trick or two. But how will Loretta react when she hears the truth?

I was given A Simple Wish in exchange for my honest review. I highly recommend reading A Simple Vow first, as its storylines are heavily referenced (get ready!) A Simple Wish was a good, fun read. The characters and storylines are well thought-out and intriguing. It’s the perfect novel to sink your teeth into for a lazy weekend. Another hit for Hubbard!

Susan Ferrell and her husband make their home in the Atlanta Metro area. Although Susan struggles with chronic migraine headaches, she stays very busy as a stay-at-home mom to one very precocious little girl. While catching her breath, she feeds her Amishaholic tendencies by reading vast amounts of Amish literature!
