My day started out bright and early today. I went to Miller’s Dutch Kitch’n where I divulged in a heaping helping of sausage gravy and biscuits accompanied by a potato cake. And don’t forget the steaming hot cup of coffee that was practically good because it was freezing this morning! I rarely sleep in, which makes me feel as though I have accomplished a lot during my day. We returned home with time on our hands and I was able to review three books. Fist pump for me!
The afternoon proved to be just as tasty as my morning. There is a new Amish community near my house that has really taken off, so we decided to take a cruise and try out a bulk food store called Mill’s. Boy I am glad we did! I bought a pumpkin, tomatoes, licorice, chips, and a pound of ham all for nine dollars. Now that’s a bargain. I am pretty sure we are going to be repeat customers. My husband was very impressed with their prices, especially since he got his favorite kind of ham at such a low price. Two dollars and twenty-three cents! They sell items that they have made and also Walnut Creek merchandise. Such a neat little store. A family was out in their yard, and it looked like they might be getting ready for a barbecue or least it smelled that way. Maybe it was one last summer shindig before the snow puppies start to fly. Along the way I couldn’t help but notice how peaceful the area is. It’s very rural which is a plus because Holmes County can get extremely busy! Peace and quiet: Isn’t that what we all would like?

I love Cindy’s books. Would love a free book :).
Michelle,
We thought the prices at the Amish community we visited in Hamptonville, NC were quite reasonable too. I only wish it was closer than an hour away! I would be a regular shopper there 🙂
