Wowed by The Winnowing Season by Susan Ferrell

winnowWhen I read Book One of Cindy Woodsmall’s Amish Vines and Orchards Series, A Season for Tending, I was hooked.  I could hardly contain myself waiting for Book 2, The Winnowing Season, to arrive!  Well, Cindy Woodsmall has captivated me once again!

The Winnowing Season picks up the storyline of main characters Rhoda Byler, an intuitive Amish woman longing for a fresh start in Maine and the King brothers: Jacob – who is courting Rhoda, and Samuel, who secretly loves Rhoda. Readers also get to follow along in the lives of secondary characters Leah (Jacob and Samuel’s younger sister,) and Rhoda’s nearest and dearest friend, Landon – an Englischer.

When Jacob’s past from the Englisch world comes back to haunt him (with a woman and a child,) will Rhoda turn to Samuel’s waiting arms? Or will separation make the heart grow fonder? The Winnowing Season is a page-turner. Readers will be rapt with attention to the very last page!

I was given this book in exchange for my honest review. This book is a must for every Amish fiction fan’s library. No doubt, Book Three will bring just as many thrills!

Susan Ferrell and her husband make their home in the Atlanta Metro area. Although Susan struggles with chronic migraine headaches, she stays very busy as a stay-at-home mom to one very precocious 5-year old. While catching her breath, she feeds her Amishaholic tendencies by reading vast amounts of Amish literature!
