The Healing Jar: Interview and Giveaway with Wanda Brunstetter

Interview and Giveaway with Wanda Brunstetter

Thanks so much for visiting Destination Amish, Wanda! Tell us about your new book, The Healing Jar.

The Healing Jar is the third and final book in my Prayer Jars series, and it’s about a young woman, Lenore, who has waited a long time to find love. Unfortunately, the man she falls in love with can’t let go of the past. Lenore finds strength and healing from the notes inside a couple of old jars she discovers at her grandmother’s place. These same Scriptures, prayers, and sayings have brought healing to Lenore’s cousin, Sara, as well as their friend, Michelle.

Do you prefer to write a series or stand-alone novels?

I enjoy both, but prefer writing a series because I can delve more deeply into the characters, setting, and storyline.

What’s a typical writing day look like for you?

I usually start writing soon after breakfast and continue writing throughout the day, stopping for meals and to do any necessary chores or run errands. I write 5, sometimes 6 days a week, with a goal of writing at least a chapter each day.

What is the message you want readers to take away from reading The Healing Jar?

The message I hope to leave with those who read The Healing Jar is that no matter how badly we have been hurt by someone or an unexpected circumstance, God can bring healing to our soul if we seek His will and trust Him with all things.

These next questions are for fun!

Favorite Amish community to visit?

Since we have many Amish friends in several communities, it’s hard to say which community is my favorite. We do visit Indiana, Ohio, and Pennsylvania the most often, however.

Fry Pie or Whoopie Pie?

They are both delicious. For me, it’s Fry Pie when we are visiting Ohio and Whoopie Pie when we visit my husband’s home state of Pennsylvania.

Buggy or scooter?

Amish buggy, because one of our Amish friends is a buggy-maker. We actually own one of his older buggies and have used a few times in video trailers to promote my books.

Kindle or paperback?

Paperback. I enjoy reading paperback novels, and also having the privilege of autographing them when I’m on book signing tours.
