Hiding In Plain Sight – Amy Wallace

Montezuma, Georgia, is a town in desperate need of an economic boost. Plans are in the works for a city makeover that will hopefully bring back much needed employment. The plans include a Mennonite museum, but when the Mennonites discover the museum will not include their religious beliefs, they decide against it. This angers some of the townspeople and sets in motion a string of events targeted at the Mennonites.  Anna Yoder and her young son Bradley are the main targets because she decided against selling her farm for the museum. Ashley Walters is a cop whose faith has been tested. Her brother was gunned down in cold blood and died in her arms. Bradley Yoder reminds Ashley of her brother Eric. She feels compelled to protect the Yoder’s at all costs, something she believes she should have done for her brother. With her faith at odds, she feels drawn to the Mennonite community. The Mennonites have an unshakable faith, something Ashley needs. Patrick James is a local counselor who befriends Ashley. He has a hard time getting her to talk about the past, but he is determined to help her.  Patrick begins to care for Ashley and wants to start a relationship. Will the tough cop who is determined to keep running from the past be able to open her heart and let love in? As the attacks intensify, Patrick and Ashley along with the help of Jonathan Yoder- Anna’s nephew, work to figure out who is behind it all. Can they get to the bottom of it before it’s too late? This book has it all- romance, suspense, and mystery. The characters are well developed and very compelling.  A must read!
