My Daughter’s Legacy – Mystery Solved!

Oh, how I have waited for this third and final installment in Mindy Starns Clark’s and Leslie Gould’s series, Cousins of the Dove. My Daughter’s Legacy is finally here – and all of your questions are finally answered!

In present-day, recovering addict Nicole Talbot is back home from college. She’s living with Maddie and working at an equine center to gain more experience over her summer break. But Nicole is also coming home with a secret that she locked away long ago one fateful day…a secret that may be the key to unraveling a decades-old mystery.

Therese Jennings is not your typical Civil War-era southern belle. She abhors slavery. When her mother inherits the family plantation, Therese heads to Richmond. In Richmond, she’s a governess by day and aides wounded soldiers at the local hospital by night. Her values continue to be at odds with the world around her. How will she reconcile the two?

I was given My Daughter’s Legacy in exchange for my honest review. It was a great ending to a terrific series. I recommend reading the other books in the series first, as there are so many details of the modern-day mystery that are built book by book, leading to the finale. Clark and Gould did a wonderful job of segueing from present-day Nicole to 1864 Therese. It was not my favorite of the series, as there were so many details thrown in. I felt like I needed a flow chart. That being said, there was a real sense of satisfaction to have the mystery finally solved! There’s no doubt that Mindy Starns Clark and Leslie Gould are writing magic. I hope they team up again soon!

Susan Ferrell and her husband make their home in the Atlanta Metro area. Although Susan struggles with chronic migraine headaches, she stays very busy as a stay-at-home mom to one very precocious little girl. While catching her breath, she feeds her Amishaholic tendencies by reading vast amounts of Amish literature!
