Andi Under Pressure – Reviewer Susan Ferrell Ready for More!

Andi Under PressureI am surprised as the next that I am writing up another review for one of Amanda Flower’s juvenile fiction novels.  But after reading her first title in the Andi Boggs novels, Andi Unexpected, I was pleasantly surprised…and found myself looking forward to Book Two in the series.  Andi Under Pressure has now been consumed.  Where is Book Three?  But, I get ahead of myself…

Andi Under Pressure continues to trek with the lives of Andora ‘Andi’ Boggs and her ever-faithful friend Colin.  This time around, they are attending science camp at the local university – and mysterious things starts happening on Day One (missing supplies, insects on the loose, etc.)!  There is also a suspicious janitor roaming the campus with a secret to tell…and Andi and Colin are determined to use their sleuthing skills to get to the bottom of it!

Although I enjoyed the storyline of Andi Under Pressure, and the majority of the characters were fleshed out (some could have used a bit more rounding out), the climax of the story left me wanting.  I kept waiting for the “big scene” and there really wasn’t one.  That being said, I still enjoyed the book and I think the tween crowd will think it’s great.

I was given this book in exchange for my honest review.  I love the Andi Bogs series and thoroughly enjoy the camaraderie between Andi and Colin.  I am particularly eager to see how Andi’s relationship will develop with her older sister in subsequent books.  I do not think this book should be read as a stand-alone, as the reader really needs to know the history of the characters from Book One.  On a purely parental level, I’d love to see some Christian values thrown in (not in a preachy way, but at least something) – especially since these titles are published under a Christian imprint.  But, as I stated from the beginning:  I’m ready for Book Three, Ms. Flowers!  I need my Andi fix!

Susan Ferrell and her husband make their home in the Atlanta Metro area. Although Susan struggles with chronic migraine headaches, she stays very busy as a stay-at-home mom to one very precocious 5-year old. While catching her breath, she feeds her Amishaholic tendencies by reading vast amounts of Amish literature!
