Two of my favorite people in the world Pam “Whoopie Pie” Jarrell and Sarah Price, have collaborated on a new book, The Divine Secrets of the Whoopie Pie Sisters. The first of a three book series, book one introduces readers to Leah, Sadie, Susie, and Lydia, a secret keeping set of sisters who run the famous Whoopie Pie Place bakery in Berlin, Ohio. The sisters will reel you in from the get go and as you read about their troubles you will find yourself overly intrigued with the little bits each one reveals of their secrets. I have a feeling that big things are going to happen in book two and I for one cannot wait to see what is in store for our whoopie pie sisters! I love when a book does that…keeps you thinking what in the world is going to happen to these characters. Just wait till you read about Sadie. I have my suspicions…wonder if I am right?
I am so happy that this book is not just another Amish fiction story about a budding romance between two youngins. Sarah and Pam have created a set of rich, complex characters who each have their own battles to fight and may be keeping secrets from each other but when push comes to shove nothing will come between this sisterhood. I am secretly jealous of the sisters because I think working in a bakery, although stressful at times, would be an awesome job. I adored this book and if you don’t want to eat a whoopie pie by the time you finish reading well then something’s wrong!
