More Than a Promise: Review by Susan Scott Ferrell

More Than a Promise – Heartwarming

More Than a PromiseAuthor Amy Lillard Brings readers back to Wells Landing with yet another sweet, Amish love story. More Than a Promise tells the story of newly widowed Mariana, who loses her husband, Leroy, to a brain tumor. In reality, she actually lost him months earlier due to the ravages of the awful beast.

Later, Mariana receives some shocking news. So when Leroy’s business partner and best friend, Reuben, starts visiting Mariana – the Wells Landing tongues start wagging! What will Mariana do?

I was given More Than a Promise in exchange for my honest review. I found it to be a good, quick read. Although characters from previous novels in the series are mentioned, it does not distract, and can easily be read as a stand-alone. The characters are endearing and heartwarming. I found myself longing for another chapter. Oh well…on to the next great Wells Landing adventure, Titus Returns. Readers get a sneak peek at the end of More Than a Promise, and it looks phenomenal!

Susan Ferrell and her husband make their home in the Atlanta Metro area. Although Susan struggles with chronic migraine headaches, she stays very busy as a stay-at-home mom to one very precocious little girl. While catching her breath, she feeds her Amishaholic tendencies by reading vast amounts of Amish literature!
