A Woodland Miracle – Enchanting! Review by Susan Scott Ferrell

A Woodland MiracleI am a relatively new fan of Ruth Reid’s. When I read her first book in her Amish Wonders series, A Miracle of Hope, I was hooked. Needless to say, when the second novel this series, A Woodland Miracle, arrived I was elated. But could it measure up to the first? Oh yes, indeed it could!

A Woodland Miracle tells the story of Grace Wagler, an independent young Amish woman who lives in the rugged wilds of a timber camp in Badger Creek, Michigan. She’s making her own way, despite significant physical challenges as well as a broken heart. When gregarious Ben Eicher arrives from Pinecraft, Florida (sent to Michigan because of his most recent frivolities) he is immediately drawn to Grace. Grace, however, has more serious pursuits on her mind. Along the way, a giant mystery is swirling in Badger Creek – a mystery that puts both Ben and Grace in tremendous danger…but also draws them to one another.

I was given A Woodland Miracle in exchange for my honest review. Although the novel was a healthy 329 pages, it was worth every word and the pages flew by. The story was well-written and the subplots intertwined nicely throughout. A Woodland Miracle can easily be read as a stand-alone. I highly recommend this excellent read. If you have not yet read any of Reid’s works, A Woodland Miracle will be the one to enchant you!
