In Plain Sight by Marlayne Giron is quite the book. It mixes Amish and Aliens! No, not the little green kind but handsome ones with silver eyes. Brothers Seth and Silas show up during a barn raising and Rebecca Esh’s life is forever impacted. She is immediately drawn towards Seth, who in return thinks he has found his soul mate. Their arrival has caused quite the stir among the community. They were sent away from the gathering only to be found hiding in the Esh’s barn. The family decides to keep their secret long enough for the boys to fix their ship and be on their way. Seth and Rebecca grow closer much to the dismay of her family and Silas. They each know the consequences if they act upon their feelings. This is a very unique book. It is a different take on Amish fiction. I found it to be enjoyable and well thought. At times I even forgot that Seth was an alien. To me he is just a boy who is in love with just a girl. The author does a great job describing Rebecca and Seth’s love for one another. If you enjoy Amish fiction mixed with a little Sci-Fi than this book is for you. Happy Reading!
